Clothing & Shoes
Dance class requires certain clothes for freedom of movement (this includes a leotard, tights and appropriate dance shoes) No bare legs or midriffs allowed:

Creative Movement: any color leotard; pink or tan tights; pink ballet shoes.   Moms may wear any comfortable clothing and flexible shoes for Mom and Me.
Combination Classes: tan tap shoes (remove ribbon laces and replace with elastic closures); pink ballet shoes (Ballet/Tap Combination Classes) or tan jazz shoes (Tap/Jazz Combination Classes); any color leotard; pink or tan tights.
Jazz and Color Guard Classes: tan jazz shoes; solid color leotard; tan tights; dance shorts or jazz pants.   Hair should be neatly pulled back from the face. 
Tap Classes: tan tap shoes; solid color leotard; tan tights; dance shorts.  NO street clothes and no long pants.  Hair should be neatly pulled back from the face.
Ballet and Pointe Classes: black leotard; pink tights; pink ballet shoes or pointe shoes.  All ballet students need to have hair secured in a bun.  It is imperative that Ballet students dress appropriately.  This ensures that the teacher can observe the body lines and make appropriate corrections!
Clogging Classes: black clogging shoes; solid color leotard; dance shorts.  NO street clothes.  Hair should be neatly pulled back from the face.

Hip Hop Classes: black jazz shoes or black jazz sneakers-no street shoes; Comfortable clothing for dancing.

Lyrical, Modern and Contemporary Classes:  leotard, footless or convertible tights and modern sandals or “foot undeez”.

Acrobatics Classes:  solid color leotard, footless or convertible tights.  No shoes.  For safety reasons, NO loose clothing of any kind.

Dance Twirl Classes:  solid color leotard, tights, dance shorts and tan jazz shoes. Batons will be available for purchase at the Studio.

African Classes:  comfortable clothing for dance; no shoes.

* Students who may have had a different color shoe from the 2011 recital may start the year in that shoe but understand they will have to have the appropriate color for the 2012 recital.

Holidays
The studio will be closed for the following holidays:
Labor Day: September 5, 2011
Thanksgiving: November 23-27, 2011 Classes resume Monday November 28th
Winter Break:

December 19, 2011 thru January 1, 2012

Classes resume on January 2nd, 2012

Spring Break:

March 12th-March 18th, 2012 

Classes resume on Monday March 19th, 2012

Memorial Day: May 28, 2012

Considerations
Please, no food or drink (except water bottles) in the studios. No chewing gum anywhere in the studio. No cell phones allowed in class.

No street shoes in the studios.  Please help keep our studio floors clean and free from damage; dancers should change into their dance shoes in the lobby.

Observers

Only dancers should be in the studio during class. During the first few weeks of class, parents may come into the classroom to encourage their dancers if need be, but once the dancers are comfortable, please enjoy your children from the lobby and watch through the viewing window.

Pick-Up & Drop-Off
Students should be dropped off and picked up promptly before and after class. They must remain inside until they are picked up (for safety reasons).Back To Top
